Shop Blasting & Coating

Newly constructed in 2004, Superior now has a state-of-the-art Shop Blast & Paint Building in Concord, North Carolina. We are now able to offer the following services that are in high demand by many of our customers.

In November 2004, Superior Industrial Maintenance Company opened its new Shop Abrasive Blast and Paint Facility in Concord, NC (near Charlotte). Only minutes away from Interstate 85, this is a 12,000 square foot enclosed shop with temperature, humidity and dust controls maintained and a 3-acre lay down yard.

Highlights include:
  • We can apply coatings to field erected tank plates, structural steel, piping, manufacturer equipment and parts, miscellaneous fabrications, bridge components, and almost anything made of steel or concrete.
  • Superior can use any type of abrasive media available to perform the various types of cleaning such as steel grit, aluminum oxide, glass beads, walnut shells, and more.
  • Our rail system and assembly line layout will move your projects through our new shop on time and under budget.
  • Shop Painting & Tank Lining – using both Standard Shop Primers, High Performance Coatings/Linings and High Baked Linings.
  • Superior can install interior tank linings, high baked acid/chemical resistant linings, and painting of shop-fabricated tanks.
  • We can apply most any coating/tank lining as required by the customer specifications or we can recommend to the customer what is needed for a particular service.
  • The new paint and abrasive blast booths are each 18’ x 18’ x 64’ long and capable of handling tractor-trailer size loads, large diameter vessels and large equipment.
  • Abrasive Blasting – using a wide variety of different types of blasting media.

Superior Industrial Maintenance Company holds various State Licenses and is accredited as an approved Lead Paint Removal Contractor. Some of these important certifications include:

  • SSPC-QP2 Certified Contractor for “Industrial Hazardous Paint Removal” (lead paint) as set forth by the SSPC Painting Contractor Certification Program.
  • The SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) is the national organization for the application of specialty coatings & linings to industrial structures, tanks, vessels, bridges and dams.
  • Our company also has Certified NACE Coating Inspectors on staff.
